What Guild Expedition automation does in Forge of Empires, why the game's own auto battle is not the same thing, and the parts of GE a bot should leave to you.
Forge of Empires lets you auto-fight any single battle, and in Guild Expedition that covers the least tedious part. What it does not cover is everything around it: opening the next encounter, picking the army, starting the second wave, swapping in fresh units after losses, opening the chest, walking over to the relic. Multiply that by every encounter of every level, every week, and GE is a clicking job with a few seconds of battle in the middle.
A Guild Expedition bot does the clicking job. SentryFoE's works along the map the way you would — encounter, waves, chest, next encounter — and uses the game's own battles to do it, so each fight is the same fight you would have got by pressing auto yourself.
Encounters with two waves are fought as two waves. The bot waits for the game to settle the first before starting the second, rather than firing both and hoping.
GE and Guild Battlegrounds use separate unit pools, so the expedition has its own army picker. It is re-applied between waves, so units lost in one wave are replaced for the next.
Chests are opened between encounters, and the relics lying on the map are collected as it goes. Relics are on by default — they are free — with a switch if you would rather it didn't.
On a lost wave, when the army has nothing left to rebuild from, when attempts run out, and when a level is finished — the next level is opened by you, because the game only loads it properly when a person clicks it.
There is no separate tab to learn. Open the expedition in the game and a small window appears with the army picker and a start button. The docs walk through it.
When attempts run out you can wait for them to refill, or buy more with medals. The bot can buy them for you, but it is off by default, because it is the one thing in the expedition that spends something you earned.
The game charges more for each attempt you buy, so a single “on” switch would be a trap. There are two limits instead: how many attempts per run, and the most you are willing to pay for one. If the bot cannot be sure of either, it stops rather than buying. It pays in medals only — never diamonds.
Pressing auto on a battle is part of the game. Software that plays the expedition for you is not — it breaks the Forge of Empires Terms of Service, and accounts do get actioned for automation. The honest answer on ban risk is here.
SentryFoE is built around Guild Battlegrounds, with Guild Expedition and Great Building sniping alongside it. If you are comparing tools, here is every FoE bot worth knowing about, or read how the Guild Battlegrounds side works.
It plays the expedition for you: it opens each encounter, fights it wave by wave with the army you chose, replaces lost units between waves, opens the chests, collects the relics on the map and moves on to the next encounter, until the level is finished or your attempts run out.
No. The game's auto battle fights one battle for you once you have started it. Everything around the battle — choosing the encounter, the army, the second wave, the chest and the relics — is still clicks you make yourself. A Guild Expedition bot makes those clicks.
No, it only fights. Negotiating is a guessing game that spends goods, and automating it wastes them faster than a person would for very little gain.
Buying extra attempts with medals is off by default. If you switch it on, you set how many attempts it may buy per run and the most it may pay for one, and it stops when it cannot be sure of either. It never spends diamonds.
Yes, it can. Automating the expedition breaks the Forge of Empires Terms of Service, and accounts do get actioned for automation. No tool can promise otherwise.
