Getting started with SentryFoE

Everything from "what is this" to using every tab in the panel — written in plain English, no coding knowledge needed. Follow it top to bottom the first time, or use the menu to jump to whatever you're stuck on.

Start here

What is SentryFoE?

SentryFoE is a small add-on for your Chrome browser. Once it's installed, a control panel appears right on top of the Forge of Empires game page whenever you're in Guild Battlegrounds (GbG). From that panel you can pick targets, launch attacks automatically, keep your army topped off, get pinged the instant a province unlocks, and (new) hunt down Great Building sniping opportunities — all without clicking through the map by hand.

It talks to the same servers the real game client talks to. It doesn't "hack" anything or touch other players' accounts — it just does, automatically, what you'd otherwise click through yourself.

Read this before you go further: automating gameplay is against Forge of Empires' Terms of Service. InnoGames can take action on an account for it — that's a real possibility, not a scare tactic. Using SentryFoE is entirely your choice and entirely your risk. See Terms & risk disclosure for the full picture before you create an account.
Before you start

What you need

  • Google Chrome (or another Chromium-based browser — Edge, Brave, etc.). This does not work in Safari or Firefox.
  • An active Forge of Empires account, already in a guild that does Guild Battlegrounds.
  • About 10 minutes the first time, for account creation and installing the extension. After that, it's a couple of clicks per session.

You do not need to know anything about code, browser extensions, or "developer mode" — every step below tells you exactly where to click.

Step 1

Create your account

Your SentryFoE account is separate from your Forge of Empires account — it's what holds your license, your saved settings, and your device.

  1. 1Go to sentryfoe.online and click Start clearing (top of the page) or Sign in (top right).
  2. 2Click the Create account tab.
  3. 3Enter an email address you actually check, and a password (at least 8 characters). If someone referred you, paste their referral code in — it's optional.
  4. 4Tick the box confirming you understand the risk described above, then click Create account.

That's it — your account works immediately, no waiting. You're signed in and looking at your dashboard.

Step 2

Verify your email (gets you a free trial)

Right after you register, a confirmation email gets sent to the address you signed up with. Open it and click the link inside — that's the entire "verification" process. The moment you do, your account automatically gets a 1-day free trial, no card, no extra step.

Don't see the email within a few minutes? Check your spam/junk folder first — it catches a lot of first-time senders. If it's genuinely not there, skip ahead to Getting help and open a ticket — someone will sort it out by hand.
Step 3

Getting a license

Verifying your email starts a 14-day free trial automatically — no card, nothing to click, one per account. That is the full product, not a cut-down version. When it runs out:

  1. 1Open your dashboard. The License card shows Activate license once the trial has ended.
  2. 2Follow the checkout — $10 a month, cancel any time. Once payment goes through your plan updates on its own; there is no code to enter anywhere.

Your License card on the dashboard always shows your current status and exact expiry date, so you can check where you stand at any time.

Step 4

Download & install the extension

SentryFoE isn't on the Chrome Web Store (automation tools generally get rejected there) — instead, you download a small folder from your own dashboard and point Chrome at it directly. It sounds more technical than it is; follow these exactly and it takes two minutes.

  1. 1On your dashboard, go to the Builds tab and click Download latest build. A .zip file downloads.
  2. 2Unzip it. On Windows, right-click the downloaded file → Extract All. On Mac, just double-click it. You'll end up with a regular folder, not the .zip anymore.
  3. 3Open a new Chrome tab and go to chrome://extensions (type or paste that straight into the address bar).
  4. 4In the top-right corner of that page, switch on Developer mode. This just lets Chrome load extensions from a folder instead of only the Web Store — completely safe, and only affects this one browser.
  5. 5Click Load unpacked (top-left), then pick the unzipped folder from step 2.
  6. 6Done — SentryFoE now shows up in your list of extensions. You can close the chrome://extensions tab.
Every build is stamped uniquely to your account. Don't share your downloaded folder with anyone else — it's tied to your license and your device.
Step 5

Sign in inside the game

Open Forge of Empires in Chrome (reload the tab if it was already open). A small panel appears on the page — that's SentryFoE. The first time, it asks you to sign in.

  1. 1Enter the same email and password you used to create your SentryFoE account (not your Forge of Empires login).
  2. 2Click Sign in.

This binds the extension to this specific device — each plan covers one device at a time. If you ever need to switch computers, your dashboard has a Reset device button under the Device card.

The panel

Panel tour: what you're looking at

The panel has three parts, top to bottom:

  • Header — the SentryFoE name, a status dot (green pulsing = running, plain green = ready, grey = not connected yet), and a collapse button. Click the small floating icon it leaves behind to bring the panel back.
  • Status bar — a "ready"/"waiting" tag (see Troubleshooting if it's stuck on waiting), your current attrition level, how many attacks this run has made, and the Start/Stop buttons.
  • Tabs — seven of them, covered one by one below. Whichever you had open last time reopens automatically.

You can drag the panel anywhere on screen by its header, and it remembers where you left it.

Tab 1

Targets

This is where you choose what to attack.

  • Auto — the panel picks your best case on its own: provinces you've already partly conquered first, then the ones with the lowest chance of attrition, then the highest victory points.
  • Manual — you pick exactly which provinces to hit, either by clicking them on the little map or ticking them in the list below it.

The list can be sorted by clicking any column header, and filtered with the checkboxes above it (hide your own provinces, hide locked ones, show only what you've selected). Click Load map any time to refresh it with the current state of the battlefield.

Tab 2

Army

Tell the panel which units to fight with, once, and it replays that same line-up before every attack afterward.

  1. 1In the actual game, set up your army the way you want it (open the battle/unit screen and pick your units).
  2. 2In the Army tab, click Record current and give it a name.
  3. 3Pick that saved army from the dropdown, then click Apply whenever you want to switch to it.

Allow damaged units and minimum HP control how picky the bot is about only using full-health units versus spilling into slightly-hurt ones when it has to. If your roster count looks stale after you've swapped units around, click Refresh roster.

Tab 3

Combat

This is the engine room — how the attacks actually run.

Run mode

  • Manual — do a fixed number of attacks, then stop.
  • Auto — same idea, but reads a count you set once instead of asking every time.
  • Autopilot — runs indefinitely, attacking whatever opens up, until you stop it, an attrition cap trips, or a set attack budget is used up. This is the "just let it handle Battlegrounds all day" mode.

Pace & limits

  • Attack delay + jitter — how long to wait between attacks, with a bit of randomness added so every attack doesn't land at an identical, suspiciously robotic interval.
  • Max attrition / max attrition chance — safety caps. The run stops (or skips a province) once these are hit.
  • Attack budget — a hard cap on total attacks for an Autopilot run (0 = no cap).
  • Capture margin — a different kind of limit: it stops the bot from delivering the final blow that would actually capture a province, once that province's own progress is within N points of finishing. Useful if you'd rather leave the last hit for a guildmate, or simply not take a sector outright. Works in every run mode, not just Autopilot.
  • Skip guild "ignore" flags / only guild "focus" flags — these read the little flag markers your guildmates set on the in-game map, so the bot naturally follows whatever your guild has already coordinated.
Beast mode fires attacks as fast as possible with zero delay between them. It's the single most detectable thing this tool can do — a burst of identical, back-to-back requests is exactly what stands out. Power users only; leave it off unless you specifically know why you want it.
Tab 4

Alerts

Get pinged on Discord the instant any province unlocks — yours or someone else's — instead of having to keep checking the map yourself. This uses a Discord webhook, which is a private message address for one specific channel. Here's how to set one up (you'll need permission to manage the server you want alerts posted to — usually your own guild's Discord):

  1. 1In Discord, go to the server and channel you want alerts in. Click the gear icon next to the channel name (or right-click it → Edit Channel).
  2. 2Click Integrations in the sidebar, then Webhooks, then New Webhook.
  3. 3Give it a name if you want (e.g. "GbG Alerts"), then click Copy Webhook URL. That's a long link starting with https://discord.com/api/webhooks/....
  4. 4Back in the SentryFoE panel's Alerts tab, paste that link into the Webhook URL field and switch the toggle at the top of the card to on.
  5. 5Click Send test — you should see a test message land in that Discord channel within a couple of seconds. If it does, you're all set.

Once it's on, every lock — attack or defense, yours or an opponent's — posts automatically with a countdown to when it opens and everyone's current progress on it.

Tab 5

Sniping

Great Buildings (the big landmark buildings, like the Arc or the Observatory) pay out rewards to whoever contributes the most Forge Points right when a level completes. "Sniping" means swooping in with exactly enough FP, at the right moment, to grab one of those reward slots on someone else's Great Building — usually a friend, guildmate, or neighbor. This tab scans for those opportunities and works out whether one is actually worth taking.

Running a scan

  1. 1Tick which lists to search — Neighborhood, Friends, and/or Guild.
  2. 2Click Scan for targets. This can take a little while on a big friends list — it's checking every open Great Building it finds, one at a time, on purpose (rushing this would look bot-like).
  3. 3Results appear in the table below, sorted by profit — how much reward FP you'd gain versus what it costs to spend.

The settings, in plain terms

  • Ignore inactive friends — skips friends the game itself already marks as inactive (not seen in 3+ days).
  • With lvl closing — only shows a target when your contribution is exactly what finishes that building's level, the safest kind of snipe (nobody gets a chance to out-bid you afterward).
  • Auto-Snipe — normally a scan just finds opportunities for you to review; switch this on and it spends FP the moment it finds one worth taking, with no pause for you to confirm each one.
  • Arc coefficient — the % bonus your own Arc gives to Forge Points you contribute. Type in whatever your Arc's own bonus actually is, so the profit numbers are accurate.
  • Min profit % — don't bother with a snipe unless the return is at least this good, as a percentage of what you'd spend. 0 means "any profit at all counts."
  • Max FP / building, max FP / scan — hard spending caps, per building and for the whole scan.
  • Re-scan every N minutes — have it check again on its own periodically, instead of only when you click Scan yourself.
  • Blacklist — players you never want scanned or targeted, by name or by clicking the × on any of their results.

Each result row has two small buttons: one to snipe that one target right now, and one to blacklist that player instead. Auto-snipe all works through the whole current list, best opportunities first, respecting your FP caps as it goes. If your Forge Points will not cover the next target it stops there and says so, rather than working through the rest and failing each one.

What a snipe can spend

Only the Forge Points in your bar. If the bar cannot cover a contribution, the snipe is skipped and the log says what it needed and what you had.

May open FP packages is off by default. Switched on, it may open your packages to cover a shortfall — but only when it has counted them recently and they comfortably cover it. If it cannot be sure, it skips the snipe instead. It can never spend your diamonds.

Tab 6

Build

When your guild takes a sector, somebody has to put buildings on it. This does that for you: pick the buildings you want and the order you want them in, and the moment a sector becomes yours it starts placing them.

Your build order

Choose the buildings and drag them into the order you want — the same building can go in twice. It fills the free slots from the top of your list down, and stops when the sector is full.

Replacing what was left behind

Captured sectors often come with the previous owner's buildings on them. Switch this on and it clears those first, then builds your own order instead.

Instant finish — spends diamonds

Off by default, and worth leaving off unless you mean it. Switched on, it pays your own diamonds to skip construction time. Nothing else in the bot spends diamonds.

Guild goods

Buildings cost your guild's goods, not yours. If the treasury cannot pay, the game refuses the build and the log says so — nothing is queued up behind your back.

Tab 7

Guild Expedition

Guild Expedition has no tab of its own. Open GE in the game and a small window appears in the bottom-left corner with everything it needs: which army to use, and a start button. Close it and it comes back the next time you open GE; leave the expedition and it closes itself.

What it does

Fights each encounter wave by wave and opens the chests between them, working along the map the same way you would.

Your expedition army

Guild Expedition uses a different set of units from Guild Battlegrounds, so the picker here is separate — choosing one never changes the army your sectors are fought with. Leave it on Same as battlegrounds to reuse that one. It is re-applied between waves, so units lost in one wave are replaced for the next.

Buying attempts — spends medals

Off by default. Switched on, it buys another attempt when you run out, using medals and never diamonds. The game charges more for each one you buy, so there are two limits: how many per run, and the most you are willing to pay for one. If it cannot be sure of either, it stops instead of buying.

When it stops

On a lost wave, when your army has nothing left to rebuild from, when attempts run out, and when you finish a level — the next one has to be opened by you, because the game only loads it properly when a person clicks it.

Tab 8

Account

A quick-glance summary inside the game itself: your email, license status, which device is bound, and how long you've been a member. Download latest build here does the same thing as the dashboard's version, if you ever need a fresh copy without leaving the game tab. Sign out stops any run in progress and locks the panel again.

Tab 9

Log

A running feed of everything the panel has done — every attack, every note, every error — newest at the top. Next to it, a small list shows each of the six background connections the panel needs, each with its own dot: grey/yellow until it connects, green once it has (see Troubleshooting if one stays yellow).

Copy and Export grab the whole log as text — handy if you're asking for help and someone needs to see what actually happened. If something breaks and you're not sure why, type a quick note about what you were doing and click Send report — your recent log and build info get attached automatically, so you don't have to explain the technical side yourself.

Once you're in, #start-here is the front door, and #inside-the-panel has a full tour of every tab, mirroring this page.

Included

Remote control

Your dashboard has a Remote tools tab — start or stop a run, retarget, and tweak your settings from your phone or any browser, without touching the game tab at all. Live stats (attrition, what it's currently attacking, win/loss tally) update automatically while it runs, and the board is drawn there the same way it is in the panel.

It is part of the plan — there is nothing extra to buy.

Bonus

Refer a friend

Your dashboard overview has a Refer a friend card with your own personal code and a ready-to-share link. When a friend signs up with it and their license activates, you both get a free month — automatically, no need to ask anyone.

Something not working?

Troubleshooting

Status stuck on "waiting"

The panel finds what it needs by itself, usually within a second or two of the game loading — you don't have to open anything first. If it stays on "waiting", reload the game tab. If it still does, check the License card on your dashboard, then use Send report in the Log tab: the log names the exact piece that is missing, which is far quicker than guessing.

Sniping tab won't connect

Sniping needs the game's social and Great Building data. Reload the game tab first. The Log tab's service list shows exactly which piece is still missing, and Send report sends it to us without you having to describe it.

No target / nothing happens

Usually means every province is either locked, filtered out by your own settings, or over your attrition limit. Check the Targets tab's filters, and your Max attrition / attrition chance in Combat.

License says inactive

Check the License card on your dashboard for the exact reason and expiry date. If it looks wrong, use Send report in the Log tab or open a ticket on Discord.

Still stuck? The Log tab's Send report button is the fastest path to real help — it attaches exactly what happened, so nobody has to guess.

Safety & risk, one more time

To be completely direct about it: SentryFoE automates gameplay in a way Forge of Empires' Terms of Service prohibit, and InnoGames can act on an account for it — including a ban. Nothing here removes that risk or makes it smaller. It's entirely your decision, and entirely at your own risk. There's no warranty that it works correctly, continuously, or at all — Forge of Empires can change its own API at any time without warning us. Full details: Terms & risk disclosure.
